Recognize, Report, Reduce Child Abuse in Escambia County

Gulf Coast Kid’s House partnered with the Leadership Pensacola Class of 2019 to create “Safe Kid Zone” Training. Through this partnership we aspire to reach the “tipping point,” or 10%, of the population of Escambia County’s population with child abuse prevention education.

An allegation of child abuse or medical neglect affect one in eight children in Escambia County; we all play a part in changing that. In 2012, Governor Rick Scott increased accountability for all adults in preventing and reporting suspected child abuse by mandating that all Florida residents age 18 and older report suspected child abuse. Failure to report suspected abuse could result in a felony.

Thank you for caring about the children of our community and committing to learning how to recognize, report and reduce the opportunity for child abuse.

If your business or organization is committed to recognizing, reporting and reducing child abuse and is interested in becoming a certified Safe Kid Zone, please contact us at Our staff will create a custom link for your group and once eighty percent of your employees or members complete the training you become a certified Safe Kid Zone.

Let's get started!
